A Blanket of Gold - Through the Veil

As part of the series A Blanket of Gold, I created a special sub set of images. Using muslin veiling stretched over my camera, I took close ups of the bog and peat ravines. The veiling was a metaphor for the sphagnum moss which covers the bogland and which is mainly responsible, along with the very wet conditions, for the creation of the peat itself. It also acted as a light diffuser enabling me to show that even in the harshest of physical environments, there is great beauty.
